PUBG Free To Play On Xbox One This Weekend

Xbox has announced via Xbox Wire that this weekend, to coincide with the XO18 fan convention, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019 will be free to play for anyone on Xbox One.

You do not need an Xbox Live Gold membership to enjoy the fun either. This is part of Xbox’s “Free Play Days For All” promotion. The games are available to download now, but should only be fully playable from November 8th to the 11th in US Pacific Time.

PUBG is a huge juggernaut of gaming that largely popularized the Battle-Royale genre of gaming but it now struggles to compete with the success of Fortnite. Similarly, while PES is lauded by fans all over the world as being a great soccer game, it also struggles to compete with the much more popular FIFA series.

Will we see announcements related to these games at XO18? Xbox has  promised news in relation to PUBG. Meanwhile, there are rumors that PUBG is coming to PlayStation 4 next month, one year after it launched, on Xbox One. Only time will tell how important PUBG will be in the future of Xbox.
