This new season takes place between books 9 and 18 of the hot-selling novellas written by Reki Kawahara with the arc titled Alicization. We follow our favorite hero Kirito as he sets out on another job involving dive gear, this time for an organization called Rath.
Kirito must unravel the mystery behind Rath’s motives and involvement with FullDive virtual reality.
I haven’t read this arc of books myself, though I have enjoyed other books in the series. Having seen a small snippet of the show I can say that the animation is of the highest quality with clean lines and beautiful bright colors. It’s been since 2014 since season 2. It’s about time that we got a new season!
Sadly I will have to wait a little longer before I can enjoy Alicization as I will be waiting patiently for the English release.
What do you think of the trailer? How about the first episode for those of you that have seen it?
