Microsoft’s Inside Xbox

Microsoft announced yesterday during their Inside Xbox live event that they are adding mouse and keyboard support to Xbox One. The option is there today for developers to build support into their games and Xbox Chief Phil Spencer made it very clear that developers are not being forced to add the feature if they do not wish to, or if they feel it might not be a suitable match for their games.

Warframe is the first title to announce support with the ability coming to select Xbox Insiders in the coming weeks. Warframe is the perfect game for this testing because it is free to play and accessible to everyone on Xbox. Another good game would’ve been Fortnite, but hey, I think we’ve had enough Fortnite excitement for one day–check the latest news on Fortnite here.

While Xbox say most wired and wireless USB mice and keyboards will work with the console they are partnering with Razer who they believe have best in class build quality. I presume this partnership will lead to an Xbox branded Razer keyboard and the Razer Synapse RGB management program coming to Xbox One but both companies are keeping tight lips. Xbox also appealed for fan feedback on this new feature as they want to make sure gaming on Xbox Live is balanced and fair to all players.

What do you think of this new feature? Let us know in the comments below as always we would love to hear from you!
