OnePlus are bringing Oxygen OS 9.0, their skin of Android 9 Pie, out to the OnePlus 6 just a month after Google first released the update which is pretty unheard of in the world of Android where phones can take months if not a year to get updates. Android 7 Nougat from 2 years ago is still the most popular version of Android, or should I say the generation of Android most ignored by manufacturers.
OnePlus also announced they will soon be adding support to the older OnePlus 5T, 5, 3T and 3 devices. This will make the OnePlus 3 the oldest phone to be running the latest version of Android, a phone not made by Google.
The update will bring a lot of new features included in Android Pie like time management settings and enhanced performance and battery life, along with some OnePlus twists. You should be seeing the update very soon.
Let us know what you think in the comments below! Do you own a OnePlus device? Do you already have a device running Android 9 Pie like the Google Pixel or Essential Phone? We’d love to hear from you!
